That's what we flight attendants are for, in case this happens. Of course we're always going to ask anyone with medical experience first. The flight attendant are supposed to be in charge of the cabin. At least That's what I was taught.

Look at Scott Grady of the USAF after his F16 got shot down in Bosnia or Serbia and he had to evade capture until rescued. The media was all over calling him a hero. He was trained for all that. However, in Basic training, our TI's called us Hero a lot, loĺ.

He did go above and beyond his job duties. When I was an FA we had first aid and CPR training annually (I also had that training in the USAF) so the pilots can fly the aircraft, anything in the cabin was my responsibility, which I took seriously.

The company could care less about the employees. Without the union (I'm not big on unions either but sometimes they are a necessary evil) Boeing would pay their employees the least they could as long as they get the job done as quickly as possible. Work ethic is pretty much out the windows these days, as the top management at Boeing sure doesn't have it.

One of our 145's got hit by a LST truck. Totalled the truck, dented the front fuselage and damaged a static port. The aircraft was in our hangar in RIC for about a month before it was serviceable to be flown to EMBRAER at BNA to be fixed. I still consider it EMB145 - 1 shit truck 0.

One night while I was on duty at RAF Mildenhall we had a reservist Captain on his two week "summer camp". It was Friday night, he dutied off and I just assumed he went back to billeting. About 45 minutes later I get a call asking if I know this person. I said he dutied off. The person was one of our pax service guys at our operating location in Prestwick. Dude just walked across the flight line, boarded a Navy C9, blended in with the rest of the Space A pax. We had a good laugh. He got in trouble. They made him take a train back to Mildenhall and he was confined to quarters the rest of his TDY.
