as the saying goes..the only thing constant in life is change..tha airlines have gone on to more fuel efficient aircraft with more amenities (albeit making seats smaller)..i worked a lot of md 80's and got used to the "old bird"..it wasnt so bad and i never heard passengers complain..of cours im an "oldie"and i kind of liked the 727 as well as the dc10!!

that lounge appears to be very nice, compared to the "average" one provided for members by various airlines..26,000 feet is sizeable!im sure amex members who fly in/out of atl will use it a lot..i believe the amex lounges are open to amex card holders who have th e platinum card, rather than the regular or gold..

considering the number of near misses in and around airports with push back, tarmac instructions, take off and landngs,it seems keeping in accordance with known proper communications between the atc and the pilot is imperative..it should not be a joking matter, nor a matter of someone having a bad day..even the ground personnel who keep in touch with pilots use certain terminology..it universal..the pilot should apologize and the atc person should as well for the misunderstanding..those little "misunderstandings" can and do cause serious accidents..proper procedures matter and are there for a reason..

a person of ANY age can have health issues that pop up suddenly,or even be forgetful on occasion..making it a really "big" decision to change the maximun age from 65 to 67 is ridiculous..if a man or a woman has a complete physical (and i mean complete including cognitive ability as well as vison, both highly important for a pilot)rather than yearly, every six months, the age issue would not be there..the airlines are in need of competent, well trained people to fill empty slots on the flight deck..if memory serves me, there was a big deal made of increasing the retirement age of commercial pilots from 60 to 65 a few years ago..

every few years ,most airlines will do an "upgrade" of sorts to cabin interiors, with whatever the newest communications device or tv/comouter screen might be,as well as redoing color schemmes and uniforms..the seats shown in the article look a lot less padded and to me they look uncomfortable..but who knows until you actually sit in them for a few hours on a flight!the larger overhead bins are a definite "must" because of so much carry on luggage now..southwest has always prided itself on its bright orange and red and blueish color scheme in and on the aircraft,as well as employee uniforms and ticket counters..i wonder now if they will change their old "folksy" way of making announcements and treating passengers to go along with upgrades..they have changed from the "old days" with kelleher and his group,to compete with the "big boys" in the air...

there is no explanation in the article regarding why there was a hard landing of the aircraft..anyone who has flown knows on occasion there are a few bumps, whether its the runway, the wind or maybe the pilots on board! there needs to be more explations as to what happened as well as the injuries..did the passengers get hit with a flying object?were they all belted in as they should be?did a seat come loose?whats and whys count!

excuse me mr "bill overdue", but the article has absolutely NOTHING to do with politics..this video is merely a cabin tour of a 737 "refreshed" interior,a bit like touring a model home or remodeled one with a video camera..if you wish to discuss issues and things NOT related to aviation, there are many other sites on those topics available..
