Asiana reconfigures A350 passenger cabin with Airbus cargo pallet system
Asiana is floor-loading cargo in passenger planes using a system designed to reduce manual piece loading, while Azul is removing seats from regional jets for e-commerce deliveries. (www.freightwaves.com) 更多...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Punch some air holes in the boxes and maybe open a new mode of passenger loading. Couldn't be much less comfortable than current seats. Might lose some revenue on drink service which might be offset by reduced flight attendant staffing.
Drink revenue is still possible: Just attach a larger version of gerbil water bottles to the outside of the box, and poke the tube in through the air hole. I'm sure with a little more thought, we could even figure out a way to justify an increase over current prices.
Lol
Put some canvas over the air holes, then the pax inside wouldn’t need to wear masks.
Or....use the boxes as passenger discipline tools:
Passenger: I’d like to upgrade to first class, please.
Gate Agent: I’m sorry, sir, there are no seats available.
Passenger (yelling): I have eight kajillion frequent flyer miles, whaddaya mean I can’t get a better seat?
Gate Agent: That’s it, you’re in the box. No upgrade for you!!

I think some airlines are keeping the first class seats - too difficult to take out in some cases. So fly upfront with the cargo in back and if you misbehave you go to the penalty box with the cargo. . . :)
If it gets me no seatmates, I'll ride with the cargo.
And that's your upgrade - to a box
