My thought on all of this fuss is prove that older pilots are a safety issue due to health concerns. That should be an FAA issue that would solve the whole thing. Was a heavy duty mechanic that required one to be more physically fit than auto ones I retired at 66 and could have done another five years. So let the old guys fly if they can prove fit enough.
